Billie Ruth Kirby Steadman of Greenville, Texas passed away November 2, 2016, at the age of 76. She was born January 21, 1940, to Floyd Cummings and Josie Carpenter in Shreveport, Louisiana. Billie grew up in Sarepta, Louisiana. She was a 1958 graduate of Sarepta High School and attended business school in Shreveport, Louisiana. Billie met her first husband, Joel O. Kirby in Shreveport and they were married on December 3, 1960, in Sarepta. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1990. She worked for Owens Country Sausage for more than twenty years as an accounting clerk before her retirement in 1998. She later married Melvin Alvin “Charlie” Steadman, Jr. on July 23, 1994, in Wylie, Texas. Billie enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening. She had a passion for traveling. She was a member of the Midway Baptist Church in Sarepta.
Billie is survived by her husband, Charlie Steadman of Greenville, Texas; children, Randall Kirby and wife Robin of Greenville, Texas, Rebecca Cisco and Karl Storck of Princeton, Texas, Karen Beck and husband Gene of Webster, Texas, and Charles Steadman of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren, Clifton Cisco, Natasha Kirby, Ezekiel Cisco, DaKota Cisco and wife Kayla, Shannon Kirby, Buddy Beck, Jonathan Beck, Cassandra Beck, Stefan Storck, Gregory Storck, Mikel Storck, and Jason Storck; great-grandchildren, Hailey Cisco, Nathan Cisco, Tyler Cisco, Thomas Cisco, and Lucas Cisco; brothers, Jerry Andrews and wife Brenda of Homer, Louisiana, Pat Andrews and wife Jonelle of Sarepta, Ricky Andrews also of Sarepta; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Joel O. Kirby.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, November 4, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
