Billie Nadine Shinn passed away peacefully in her home in Farmersville, Texas, on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the age of 86 from complications of dementia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jimmie Shinn, a son, Joe Wayne Shinn, and infant daughter Melody Kay Shinn. Nadine was born on August 17, 1932 to Albert J. and Etta McCormack. She had 6 siblings. Nadine was a salt-of-the earth, sweet, caring and giving soul who will be missed every day.
She loved her family and had a wealth of friends and neighbors with rich and endearing relationships. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Farmersville and had a strong relationship with the Lord. She enjoyed a long work relationship with Boyd Viegel Law Firm in McKinney, Texas. Nadine always had beautiful flowers in her yard and in her later years, pecans ruled her life in the fall.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Eddy of Largo Florida, daughter-in-law, Lisa Shinn, and grandchildren Stephanie Ransom of Rowlett and Eli and Lauren Shinn of Farmersville and great-grandchildren Tevin Boyd and Angello Harmon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews of the Shinn family. She also had a beloved “adopted daughter,” Neta Davis, a life-long friend of Karen, who visited her frequently in the Memory Care facility.
Visitation will be held at Hurst Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville on Sunday, October 28th from 5 to 7 p.m.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Farmersville on October 29th at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, along side of her husband, son and infant daughter.
