Billie Louise (Sadler) Harrison went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, December 16, 2018 at the age of 89. She passed peacefully and joyfully, anticipating a loving reunion with family and friends.
Billie was born on August 15, 1929, to parents, William H. (Bill) and Bertha (McAdams) Sadler in Vernon, Texas. She grew up in McKinney, Texas, as one of eight brothers and sisters in a loving, lively home. At the age of 18, Billie married the love of her life, J. W. (John) Harrison and together they shared a home first in McKinney and then in Garland, Texas, for nearly 53 years until his passing in 2000. She continued to live in their home in Garland until 2015, when she moved to live with her sister Joyce Wright. Billie’s last years with Joyce were filled with love and laughter as Joyce affectionately and faultlessly cared for her older sister.
Billie worked in the garment industry most of her adult life, for Haggar Slacks (McKinney), Johnston Clothing (Wylie), and Kel-Lea Clothing (McKinney). Her duties included sewing machine operator, line supervisor, and plant manager. Billie was a master seamstress, blessing many people with her talent for sewing beautiful creations and doing flawless alterations for family, friends, and many Garland ISD student organizations.
Billie, or Gran as she was known to her family, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was active in the Red Hatters and Centerville Road Church of Christ in Garland. Billie loved her Lord, her church family, and her many friends and neighbors. She was a blessing to all those who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Billie is survived by her son, Keith and wife, Pam of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren, Leslie Norris and husband, Mike of Allen, Texas, Ryan Harrison and wife, Jennifer of McKinney, Texas, Stephanie Moore and husband, Michael of Trophy Club, Texas and Matt Howeth and wife, Monica of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Mason and Tanner Norris, Carter, Collins and Ainsley Harrison, Henry and Clara Moore, Harrison and Carolina Howeth; sister, Joyce Wright of Blue Ridge, Texas; brother, Charles Sadler and wife, Janie of Bonham, Texas; cousin, Milburn McAdams and wife, Shirley of Whitewright, Texas; plus many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Bertha Sadler; her husband, John Harrison; her sisters, Ruby Rushing and Ople Kiser; and her brothers, Johnie, Donald (Duck) and W.A. (Boots) Sadler.
A note of special thanks to Joyce, her son, Mike and family, and her daughter, Candy and family for the love, care, and special attention given to Billie in her last few days.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
