Billie Jean Hoard

Billie Jean (Shields) Hoard, 80, of Allen, Texas passed away on April 14, 2024.  She was born on February 7, 1944, to James Thomas Shields and Mildred May (Sanders) Shields in Colbert, Oklahoma.  Billie grew up and was raised in Plano, Texas, graduating from Plano High School in 1962.

Billie first married Eric Williams, and later in life found love again and married Bobby Hoard.  She led an interesting life, working as a secretary, cosmetologist, and in retail environments. Billie loved painting, and listening to music, especially her favorite, Elvis Presley.  Her love for the outdoors, sailing, and hiking, speaks to her adventurous spirit and appreciation for nature. 

Billie is survived by her daughter, Melissa Long, of Allen, Texas; son, Dana Williams; grandchildren, Will Skinner, Braeden Skinner, Cailyn Skinner, Amanda Williams, Erin Williams, Avery Williams, and Sarah, Samantha, Jacob, and Zachary Long; great grandchildren, Seth, Lily Mae, and Monroe; brothers and sisters, Tom Shields, Sam Shields, Marie Burton, Mary Barbee, Sandra Martin, and Bennie Shields; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; parents, James and Mildred (Sanders) Shields; brother, Rocky Shields; and sisters, Lavern Kirpatrick and Timanda Lamdrith.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
