Billie Dee Sumners

Billie Dee Sumners of Noble, Oklahoma formerly of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 10, 2018 at the age of 85.  He was born on October 5, 1932 to Coy Dee and Minnie (Tyler) Sumners in McKinney, Texas.  Billie married Barbara Joyce Hawkins on August 30, 1958 in Dallas, Texas.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Billie enjoyed reading, collecting coins and stamps.  He coached boys soccer in Oklahoma. Billie made many charitable contributions to Wounded Warriors, the ASPCA and Breast Cancer. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.  Billie loved feeding the humming birds and geese. Overall he loved animals, nature and wildlife.

In a nutshell…He was like an M&M…hard on the outside and soft on the inside.

Billie is survived by his daughters, Amy Dee Blackwell and husband, Michael of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Lee Ann Stout and husband, Michael of Noble, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Adam Jekel and wife, Eliza of Edmond, Oklahoma, Robert Sumners of Oklahoma, Silas Walker and wife, Hope of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Jonas Walker of Newcastle, Oklahoma, and Holly Punjabi and husband, Jared of The Village, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy Dee & Minnie Sumners; his wife, Barbara Joyce Sumners; and his son, William Tyler Sumners.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Memorial donations in the name of Billie and Barbara Sumners may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
