Billy J. (Bill) Stratton, Sr. of Lucas, Texas passed away on February 15, 2021 at the age of 85. He was born on August 29, 1935 to Robert Newton and Edna Laverne (Roper) Stratton in Lucas, Texas. Bill married Marlene Burton on November 13, 1953 in Plano, Texas. He was a very unique and jovial character as well as the most loving, generous, dependable, and hardworking man to his family and friends and was always willing to help those in need.
Bill was a local and well-respected entrepreneur of 60 years. He was an enthusiastic Allen Eagle football supporter, being a long-time season ticket holder. Bill was inducted into the Allen Athletics Hall of Honor in 2014.
Bill was a long-time member of Twin Creeks Church of Christ (formerly West Allen Church of Christ), serving as deacon and treasurer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Pamela, Patti (Milton), Janice (Greg); son, Bill, Jr. (Kim); grandsons, Ryan and Robert; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Julia, Jackson, Morgan, Dustin, Landon and Alexis; sister, JoAnne; brother, Wayne (Mollie); and numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marlene; parents, Robert and Laverne; sister, Betty and his brother, Robert.
A private family burial was held at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Lucas, Texas where Bill was laid to rest next to his wife, Marlene.
