IN LOVING MEMORY

Bill McCain

Sep 10 1952 - Oct 28 2019

William “Bill” Earl McCain, age 67, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on October 28, 2019, after a long, hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on September 10, 1952, to Irma Earl (Duhon) and Julius Robert McCain in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Bill was a 1970 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. He attended McNeese State University on an athletic scholarship for pole vaulting. He joined the IBEW and began his career in the electrical field from 1970-1982.  Later, he opened and operated The Louisiana Market which specialized in Cajun gifts, specialty foods and coffees from which he sent elaborate gift baskets worldwide. In 1994, Bill sold The Louisiana Market and moved to Fredericksburg, Texas. While there, he opened a lighting and design business which he operated for several years allowing him the opportunity to design lights and provide lighting plans for many clients including prestigious Hill Country residents and businesses. Pursuing his passion for lighting design, he moved to Frisco, Texas, where he worked for a national company which specialized in lighting design for streets, city parks, monuments and commercial buildings. His design skills received awards and recognition, including being chosen to design outdoor lighting for HGTV’s Dream Home giveaway where his design work was published in magazines.

Bill was a dedicated and loving father, a loyal son and brother, and a friend to everyone he met. Even as his physical body failed him, he was quick with a smile and his characteristic witty comments.  He will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

Bill is survived by his children, Brandon McCain and his wife, Courtney, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; Carter McCain of McKinney, Texas; Avery McCain Honeycutt and her husband, Dylan, of Celina, Texas; and Cooper McCain of Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Alec and Bralyn; three brothers, Jon McCain and his wife, Kathy; Mark McCain and his partner, Connie; and Danny McCain and his wife, Pam; as well as his dear friend, caretaker and the mother of his three youngest children, Kaye McCain and her spouse, Tami Conrad; and their children, Nick Conrad, Austin Conrad, Chaz Conrad, and Addie Conrad.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Irma McCain.

Family and friends are invited to an informal Remembrance Gathering on Saturday, November 30th, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, to visit with family and friends, and share memories, anytime between 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate, in Bill’s honor.
