IN LOVING MEMORY

Bill Lewis Walker, Jr.

Mar 13 1959 - Jan 28 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Lewis Walker, Jr. of Allen, Texas, who departed this world on January 28, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on March 13, 1959, in Enid, Oklahoma, Bill was the cherished son of Bill Lewis and Elizabeth Jean (Rains) Walker.

Bill’s life journey led him from Enid to Colorado Springs, Colorado where he graduated with the class of 1977 from Mitchell High School. Bill went on to graduate from Pikes Peak community college with an FCC 1st class radio license. He loved being the late-night radio DJ for the college station. He then returned to his roots in Enid, Oklahoma, where he passionately engaged in the trade of rare coins, becoming a dedicated collector and seller. Bill's enthusiasm for numismatics was only rivaled by his love for family, a sentiment that remained central throughout his life.

A man of varied interests, Bill found joy in gardening, visiting national and state parks, fishing, attending live concerts to listen to the timeless beats of rock-n-roll, and the artistry of postcard collections which prominently filled his social media posts. His home showcased his passion for exotic fish, as he lovingly raised them in vibrant aquariums. Bill's caring and nurturing nature extended beyond his aquatic companions to his friends and loved ones, as family always held a special place in his heart and his list of lifelong friends continued to grow.

In 1998, Bill embarked on a new chapter of his life with a move to Texas, where he dedicated himself to a career as a Senior Numismatist for Heritage Auctions. This allowed him to both travel the country and provide for his family. His devotion to his wife and their children was immeasurable. Bill's enduring love and commitment to family and friends defined him and left an indelible mark on the lives of those he held dear.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Walker, their children, Isaiah, Benjamin, and Jeremiah, all of Allen, Texas, and his daughter Jeannie Walker and granddaughter Ellowyn McCormack of Indiana. He is also fondly remembered by his sisters, Liz Walker and her husband, Richard Hronopulos of Statesboro, Georgia; Sally Cordes and her husband, Fred Cordes of Guyton, Georgia; Jayna Walker of Orange, California; and an aunt, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Lewis Walker, Sr., and Elizabeth Jean Walker.

In celebrating Bill's life, we remember the warmth he brought to those around him, the laughter shared, and the love that will endure in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace, his spirit forever alive in the memories we hold dear.
