Bill Drury age 75 of McKinney,Texas died of a heart attack on October 10, 2014. Bill was born on January 1, 1939 in McKinney. He graduated Anna High School in 1957 and was the starting quarterback for three of his high school years. One of his proudest athletic endeavors was being a starting pitcher on Anna’s baseball team for the Collin Count y Championship against Plano in 1955. Bill worked most of his life in the parts department at Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas, and often spoke fondly of his friends there. He enjoyed the outdoors and in-particular fishing in his spare time. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years , Sue; brother, Mick Drury; sister, Diane Durfee; daughter, Kellye Derr , her husband Kevin Derr, their children Heather Newton and husband Eric, and Brittany Derr; son, Chris Drury and wife Rachel and their child Sam; daughter Ashley Ramirez and husband Jay Ramirez and their children Cole, Jack, Abigail and Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother-Harry Drury and Mary (Estep) Drury.
A funeral service will be held Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home in Allen,Texas.
