Beverly Kay Hallmark passed away surrounded by her beloved family and friends on Sunday, January 29, 2023, in Princeton, Texas at the age of 71. She was born on January 4, 1952, in Bonham, Texas to parents A.W. “Pee Wee” Felmet and Bonnie (Ownby) Felmet.
Beverly graduated from Leonard High School in 1970. She was an outstanding basketball player and lettered all four years. She had numerous awards including MVP Defensive Player, All District numerous years, and was All School Favorite all four years. Beverly was Homecoming Queen her junior year of high school and a cheerleader. She was also Outstanding Girl her Senior year.
She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Leonard since 1963. Beverly had a beautiful alto voice in which she ministered through music. She was a member of the New Dawn Trio for several years. She also ministered through cards she sent to family and friends for whatever occasion they were needed.
She loved her daughter, Shelly, unconditionally and she was loved by her family. She wasn’t an animal lover like the rest of her family, but she was crazy about her grand dog, Hudson.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Shelly Carraway and her husband, Keith, of Whitewright, Texas; grandsons, Devlin, Julius and Kayden Carraway; mother, Bonnie Felmet of Leonard, Texas; sister, Patti (Felmet) Teel and her husband, Larry, of McKinney, Texas; brother, Gary Felmet and his wife, Regena, of Greenville, Texas; nieces and nephews, Lynn Felmet, Jon Felmet and his wife, Sarah, Melanie Wheeler and her husband, Brandon; and her precious great niece, Brynlee. She loved her family dearly.
Beverly is preceded in death by her father, A.W. “Pee Wee” Felmet; her maternal grandparents, Jean and Buck Ownby; and paternal grandparents, George and Bessie Felmet.
A visitation will be held for Beverly at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home in Leonard on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 5-7pm. The Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Leonard at 2:30pm on Sunday, February 5, 2023, with the burial following the service at Randolph Cemetery.
