Betty Jo Smith, age 78, of Plano, Texas, passed away February 20, 2011, in Rowlett, Texas. Betty was born February 28, 1932, to Jack and Maggie Mae (Shaw) Chaffin. She married Charles Ray Smith on October 16, 1950, in Conroe, Texas. Betty worked for American Standard for numerous years and later retired from the company. She is survived by her son, Rickey Ray Smith and wife, Charlotte of Royse City, Texas; and sisters, Vicky, Jackie, Janie, Nancy, and Frances. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons, Nickey Jo Smith and Larry Dale Smith. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. Danny Buster officiating. Interment followed at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family received friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
