Betty Rutledge Griffin, resident of Rowlett, Texas, peacefully passed away on February 9, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on October 6, 1936, to E.H. and Sybil Rutledge, Betty spent her formative years in the community of Lubbock, Texas, where she graduated from high school with honors.

Betty split her time between working at Sears Roebuck and homemaking for many years.

Betty found joy in arts and crafts, where she poured her creativity into every project with passion and dedication.  She also enjoyed traveling to new destinations, embracing the adventure and beauty of the world around her.

A faithful member of the Church of Christ, Betty sought peace and community in her faith, which served as her guiding light.  Betty will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit.

She is survived by her son, Ken Griffin and wife, Phyllis of Rowlett, Texas; grandson, Brandon Griffin of Dallas, Texas; brother, Jerry Rutledge of Dallas Metroplex; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Rob Griffin; parents, E.H. and Sybil; and siblings, JoAnn, Roger, LC, Bill, Max and Judy.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
