IN LOVING MEMORY

Betty Lovins Primmer

Dec 14 1928 - Dec 02 2020

Betty Lovins Primmer, of Whitewright and recently Gainesville, Texas died on December 2, 2020. She was born on December 14, 1928 in Windsor, Illinois to Forest and Marjorie Fay Lovins (Cain). She grew up there with three of her four siblings—Marjorie Lovins, Deanne Wheat, and Jay Lovins. Her oldest sibling, Forest, Jr., died before she was born. She was predeceased by all of her siblings, one grandson, Jeff Odom and her husband, Ray Primmer. She had four daughters—Shella Chace of Ithaca, New York, Alanna Williams of Gainesville, Texas, Kelly Dill of Whitewright, and Janeen Stroud of McKinney, Texas. Janeen raised her two children Doug Buie and Cory Buie Martin in Whitewright. Kelly died two days after her mother’s death. Eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive her.

She was a young mother, wonderful artist, and her daughters’ favorite hairdresser. She always worked to supplement the family income. Her favorite job was as a beautician. After retirement she discovered a deep well of artistic talent, painting in oils, sculpting in stone, and even whittling and decorating bobbins for lacemaking. All of her children proudly display her works of art.

Her daughters plan a graveside gathering in the Lovins family plot in Windsor, Illinois sometime in the summer, depending on travel restrictions.
