Betty Katherine Jones Bartley went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Betty was born to Carmen (Pete) Jones and Wilma (Honey) Good Jones on July 21,1945, in Ada, Oklahoma. She lived in McAlester, OK during elementary school years and moved to Texas during junior high and high school where she participated in all the sports at Bells High School while excelling in basketball. Throughout her life, she loved swimming, water skiing, snow skiing, and bicycling as well as choral music. She began singing in the church choir while still in high school at FBC in Bells.
Betty met Jack and they married on November 26, 1963, and she always said one lifetime was not enough to spend with her best friend and beloved, Jack. Betty and Jack were active members of Parkside Baptist in Denison after they married and she sang in the church choir and taught Bible study until they moved to Whitewright in 1985. Betty continued in the church choir and teaching Bible study at FBC Whitewright where she exhorted and loved the girls and ladies she got to lead in spiritual growth over 5 decades.
Betty and Jack were blessed with four children, Sheila, Troy (Lila), Logan (Christy), Brian (Kathleen) and 10 grandchildren, Brinkley, Joel, Hamilton (Hannah), Amber, Sarah (Jude), Austin, Emerald (Cory), Geoffrey, Marielle, and Bear. They also have 6 great grandsons… Arionne, Cairo, Kaiden, Kaijah, Cy, and Case.
Betty spent 30 years with Denison ISD but her primary focus was always her husband and children. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Carolyn. She is survived by husband Jack of 62 years, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
