Betty Jean Phillips, a beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023, at the age of 85. Betty was born on December 3, 1937, in McKinney, Texas, to her proud parents, Ollie Almos and Leona Evelyn (Venable) Fisher.
Throughout her life, Betty touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a shining example of love, resilience, and unwavering faith. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Fellowship Church in Plano, Texas.
Betty is survived by her loving children, Mike Phillips and wife, Cindy, of Princeton, Texas, Mark Phillips and wife, Kim, of Wylie, Texas, and Amanda Cable and husband, Matthew, of Granbury, Texas. She was also a devoted grandmother to her five cherished grandchildren, Allyson, Collin, Joey, Miles, and Logan. Betty is also survived by her sister-in-law, Johnnie Fisher of McKinney, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jeffrey Lynn Phillips; and siblings, Everett L. Fisher, Gerald Edward Fisher, Joe Dean Fisher, and Ollie Ruth Koonce Teter.
Betty's warm smile and kind heart will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on through those whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
