Funeral Services for Betty Ann Harper Whisenhunt, 81 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday April 27, 2018 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Charles Wrenn will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be Thursday April 26, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard.

Betty was born September 3, 1936 at Greenville. Her parents were Byron and Edith Dowdy Harper. She married Sam Connie Whisenhunt June 4, 1955 at Durant, Oklahoma. She was the co-owner and operator of the Downtown Café in Leonard for several years and she was a member of the First Christian Church of Greenville. Betty loved sports and was a big supporter of the local high school sports teams. She loved her family very much and enjoyed bragging about their achievements and spoiling the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her dogs. Betty passed away Tuesday April 24, 2018 at the Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Sherry and Jon Anderson of Wolfe City; her son: Johnny Whisenhunt of Aubrey; her son and daughter-in-law: Billy and Robin Whisenhunt of Leonard; her sister: Doris Nell Livingston of Arlington and her sister-in-law and husband: Charlene and Andre’ Hartness of Blue Ridge. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Giles, a son, Jimmy Whisenhunt, a grandson, Drew Anderson, three brothers, Plez Harper, Barney Harper and Paul Harper and two sisters, Helen Reagan and Nancy Mitchell.
