Betty Lowry Adkins of McKinney, Texas passed away April 27, 2015 at the age of 82. She was born January 31, 1933 to Cecil Lowry and Dovie (Loving) Lowry in Hollis, Oklahoma. Betty retired from State Farm after twenty-five years of service. Betty’s hobbies included quilting, crocheting, and studying words which lead her to take college classes later in life. She loved traveling and spending time with her husband.
Betty is survived by her son, David Adkins and wife Susan, their child, Eddie Jack Adkins of Phoenix, AZ, daughters, Anita Bruce and husband John, their children, T.J. Bruce and Sam Bruce of Frisco, TX, and Betty Jane Adkins and her children, Pearl Sanabrie and husband Ivan, Charles Hughes and Dovie Hughes of Hockley, TX; two great-granddaughters, Alondra and Lupita Sanabrie; sister, Marlene Starr; step-brother, Mack Jones of Utah; half-sisters, Donna Riley and husband Rusty of Colorado; half-brother, Marc Jones of Dallas, TX; brother, Burt Lowry and wife Sue; brother, Pete Lowry and wife Sally; brother-in-law, Arlie Adkins and wife Necia of Arizona; sister-in-law, Sharon Palio; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Adkins, sister, Wanda Wallace, step-brothers, Kenneth Jones, Carroll Jones, and John C. Jones.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
