Beth Blair Porterfield

Beth went to her Heavenly Home on Sept. 29, 2010, as she was lovingly surrounded by her family and dear friends. She was born in Dallas, Tx., on Jan. 27, 1925, to Irene DeFee Blair and Lyle Arthur Blair. Beth is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Joe Porterfield and their five children - Beth A. Porterfield, Jody Porterfield, and wife Lisa, Jim, and wife Cindy, Betsy, and husband Mark Passarelli, Brenda Rinn; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Beth is also survived by one brother, Bill Blair and wife, Annale, of Teague, Tx., one sister, Pat Cate of Franklin, Tx., and numerous nieces and nephews. Beth was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Arthur Blair, Jr. After their children grew up, Beth and Joe traveled many miles on their Honda Gold Wing. She was a longtime member of The Eastern Star. Throughout her life she gathered many friends with her caring and sweet spirit. Beth's hallmark was her total unselfishness and ability to relate to others with full and genuine compassion. With her gift of hospitality, her door was always open and she hosted many memorable family gatherings and celebrations. Family, friends, neighbors, church members will miss Beth, but all will hold on to cherished memories of her loving spirit. Prov.31:28 Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home will be hosting visitation Fri.,Oct. 1, 2010 from 6-8 pm; Service will be Sat., Oct.2, 10 am, at the same address. Memorials may be sent to The Texas Scottish Rite Children's Hospital.
