Bessie Roberta Taylor Allen

March 5, 1930 - January 13, 2008

Bessie Roberta Taylor Allen, age 77, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 13, 2008. She was born March 5, 1930, in Verona, Texas to John and Jewel (Cragett) Taylor. On July 17, 1957 she married Thomas Rhea Allen in Dallas, Texas. Roberta was a member of Waddill Street Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women’s organization. She worked for Bullock Motors as a bookkeeper and later worked for McKinney Job Corps as a guidance counselor. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Allen of McKinney; children, Lana Crim and her husband, Don of Van Alstyne, Texas, Kerry Recer of McKinney, Texas, Lisa Johnson and her husband, Robbie of Princeton, Texas; seven grandchildren, Shanna Scott and her husband, Greg, Kelly Don Crim, Joshua C. Recer and his wife, Elaine, Christopher Recer, Kyrstin Nelson, Ty Stewart and Tonya Stewart; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jewel Taylor; two brothers, Lester and Johnny Taylor. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
