Bertie Mae Gaulden of McKinney, Texas passed away on October 7, 2022 at the age of 71. She was born on October 4, 1951 to Leonard Bertie and Eula Mae (Anderson) Brock in Honey Grove, Texas, one of 21 children. Bertie attended Fannie Finch School. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and sewing. She raised her family to be very productive, smart, and witty. Bertie never met a stranger and will be dearly missed and cherished always. She was known as a legend. She was married to the late Charles Gaulden on October 16, 1965.
She is survived by her two sons, Johnny Gaulden and wife, Rindy of Blue Ridge, Texas and Bobby Gaulden of McKinney, Texas; two daughters, Sheila Thomas and husband, Charles of McKinney, Texas and Brandi Gaulden Tiller and husband, William of McKinney, Texas; nine grandchildren, John Matthew, Cori, Leah, Stormy, Bobby, Jr., Brittia, Brandy Kay, Fane, and Abby; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Bertie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Gaulden; four grandchildren, Jordan, Cody, Charlie, and Obid.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, October 14, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
