Geneva Chapin

Geneva Chapin of Allen, Texas passed away January 18, 2020 at the age of 90.  She was born on June 20, 1929 to General Lee Wood and Annie (Joines) Wood in Eldorado, Oklahoma. Geneva was one of nine children. She was a 1945 graduate of Quinlan High School in Quinlan, Texas. Geneva married Billy Joe Chapin on April 4, 1947 in Dallas. She enjoyed reading, fishing, playing Chicken Foot, and just being with people. She was an Office Manager for Dr. Tony Vita, and later for Drs. Reiman, Rovner and Bender.  She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Allen.

Geneva is survived by her Sister, Peggy Jean Livesay, Brother, G.L. Wood; Sons, Gary Chapin and wife Margaret of Mineola, Texas, Phillip Chapin and wife Peggy of Allen, Texas and Stephen Chapin and fiancée Dorla Uybengkee of Richardson, Texas; Grandchildren, Carl Horn, Cindy Freeman, Stephanie Vaughan and husband Danny, Bryan Chapin and wife Tina, Amanda Peeples and husband Bobby, Brenna Cage and husband Kevin, Hannah Uybengkee, Don Uybengkee, Moriah Uybengkee and Aaron Uybengkee; Great-grandchildren, Chelsea Freeman, Rachel Freeman, Levi Freeman, Brittney Saldierna and husband Johnny, Payge Green and husband Nick, Devin Peeples and wife Jessie, Kayla Vaughan, Cody Stoops, Lucas Peeples, Zachary Chapin, Delanie Chapin, Landon Cage, Cruz Cage, Kaiden Uybengkee and Brielle Uybengkee; Great-great-grandchild, Michael Saldierna; numerous other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Billy Joe Chapin; Parents, General Lee and Annie Wood; Stepfather, Jess Butler; Son, Larry Chapin; Sisters, Willie Mae Barnett, Audrey Olds, Christine Haines and Ruth Lee Wood; Brothers, Thomas Wood and Carrel Wood.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Allen, 201 East McDermott Drive, Allen, Texas 75002. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, Allen Texas.
