Bernard Moses Brooks, III, passed away on March 13, 2023, in McKinney, Texas, at 55 years of age. He was born to Bernard Moses and Sherry (Engle) Brooks, Jr, on August 30, 1967, in San Antonio, Texas. Bernard married Tracy Lynn Brooks on March 5, 2013, in McKinney, Texas. He loved working, paying bills, his dogs, his electronic devices, and being at home. His greatest relaxation was lying in bed watching TV on Sunday. Bernard was a kind and thoughtful man and will be remembered and missed by the many lives he touched.
Bernard had a work ethic like very few and excelled in everything he did. He moved to Las Vegas shortly after high school, where he started as a car valet at a Las Vegas hotel, worked his way inside to the front desk, and eventually became the hotel manager. He was nominated for Man of the Year while living and working in Las Vegas.
After returning to Texas, Bernard started working at Stonebriar Chevrolet in 2004 and moved to their sister store, Reliable Chevrolet, in 2013. He loved working with all the great people in the Reliable Chevrolet family.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Tracy Lynn Brooks; stepsons, Cole Coleson, Drake Coleson, and wife, Brittny, Hunter Coleson, Zane Coleson, and Wyatt Coleson, all of McKinney, Texas; brother, Bret M. Brooks; nieces, Taylor and Kaylee; nephews, Blake and Blane of Shakopee, Minnesota and a host of other loving friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Moses Brooks, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
