Justin Bernard Liad of Grapevine, Texas passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 36.

He was born on July 30, 1989, in Manila, Philippines, Bernard was the beloved son of Rodolfo Dadia Liad and Charito Castillo. His family moved to the United States in 1994, planting roots in Allen, Texas, where Bernard spent his formative years. He graduated from Allen High School in 2008, where he was a proud member of the school’s track team, a passion that would continue through his college years.

Bernard pursued higher education with both drive and heart. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Texas, where he also ran track, and later completed his master’s degree in marketing at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Professionally, Bernard began his career as an English teacher, sharing his passion for life with his students. He quickly expanded his role at the school to include coaching track, cheer, and teaching dance. In more recent years, he transitioned into the field of marketing, where his creativity and insight flourished.

On February 8, 2016, Bernard married the love of his life, Alexander - Vu The Nghiem, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Bernard was a deeply compassionate soul. His social nature and open heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He had a particular love for animals and found great joy in caring for plants, filling his home with vibrant greenery that reflected his nurturing spirit.

He is survived by his husband Alexander - Vu The Nghiem of Grapevine, Texas; mother, Charito Liad of Allen, Texas; sister, Camille Williams and husband, Kevin of Allen, Texas; sister, Joannah Liad – Harbeck of Pacific Grove, California; sister Anna Larson and husband, Conor of Seattle, Washington; brother, James Liad of Allen, Texas; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Rodolfo Dadia Liad.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive guests during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
