Mr. Bernard Eugene “Bernie” Brown, age 77 of McKinney, Texas passed away on October 18, 2005 in McKinney. He was born on September 15, 1928 to Marion and Rosanna (Mitchell) Brown in Adams County, Iowa. He married Judith Marlene Reed on March 9, 1958 in Bedford, Iowa. Mr. Brown was a retired engineer for Monsanto Company. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Mr. Brown was a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith M. Brown of McKinney, Texas; children, Joni Lea Britain and husband, Jeff of McKinney, Julie Kay Gebhardt and husband, George of Allen, Texas, and Jeffrey D. Brown and wife, Kim of Aubrey, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua Britain, Jessica Britain, Quentin Gebhardt, and A.J. Gebhardt; brothers, Clifford Brown of Corning, Iowa and Gerald Brown of Murray, Nebraska; sisters, Lois Scott of Clearfield, Iowa, Berneita Dunham of Bela Vista, Arkansas, Joann Morris of Omaha, Nebraska, Judy Grantham of Denver, Colorado, and Rev. Rosanna Walker of Baudette, Minnesota and a host of extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2005 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Jerry Putnam officiating. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
