Bernard “Ben” Tooker, Jr., age 57, of Garland, Texas, passed away June 3, 2017. Ben was born March 19, 1960, in Marietta, Georgia, to Bernard Winfield Tooker, Sr. and Kathryn Mae (Velsor) Tooker. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech, later earning Master’s degrees from SMU and the University of Dallas. Ben spent most of his career as an electrical engineer with E-Systems/Raytheon in Garland and recently as a business analyst at CVS Health. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Richardson.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lair Tooker of Garland, Texas; son, Zachary Tooker; father, Bernard Tooker, Sr. of Morrison, Florida; mother, Kathryn Reigner of Richardson, Texas; brothers, Jeff Tooker and wife, Daneille of Dallas, Texas and David Tooker of Tomball, Texas; aunt, Carol Hubbs and husband, David of Holbrook, New York; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins with whom he was very close.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Margaret Velsor.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
