Covey Hopewell of Anna, Texas passed away July 4, 2016, at the age of 11. He was born December 1, 2004, to John Hopewell and Diane (Grish) Hopewell in Honolulu, HI. Covey was very active in his church, his baseball league and Boy Scouts. Some of his favorite pastimes included selling candy door to door, going to baseball games and to the movies, going to work with his father, playing miniature golf, and spending time with his family and friends. He was full of life and made the world a better place. He was courageous, genuine, unashamed, and had unconditional love abounding in his heart. He never met a person whose life he didn't influence for good.
Covey is survived by his parents, John and Diane Hopewell of Anna, Texas; siblings, Noah Hopewell and Lucy Hopewell also of Anna, Texas; grandparents, Bruce and Roxanne Hopewell of Van Alstyne, Texas and Ted and Sandy Grish of Milpitas, California; great-grandparents, Carlie Lewis of Frisco, Texas and Beth Grish of Antelope, California; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016, in the chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building in Melissa, Texas. Interment is to follow at Melissa Cemetery in Melissa, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
