Belinda Irene Doyal Franklin

Belinda Irene Doyal Franklin was born March 6, 1959 to Helen and JW Doyal of Wylie, Texas.  A 4th generation resident of Collin County, she lived in Wylie and attended Wylie Independent Schools until she left for Austin to pursue a degree in Communications at the University of Texas.  Anyone who knew Belinda well understood come each fall she lived for Longhorn football, win or lose.  After university, she was employed in Information Technology with PepsiCo, Inc. for over 30 years.

Belinda succumbed to a rare, terminal neurodegenerative disorder known as Multiple System Atrophy.  She was diagnosed late 2013 when she was 53 and fought a valiant battle for almost a decade.

Belinda is survived by her father, JW Doyal of Wylie, Texas; husband, Douglas Franklin; sons, Spencer and Elliot Franklin of Richardson, Texas; sister, Tina Doyal McCreary and husband, Mark of Garland, Texas; niece, Candace McGarry and husband, Kenny of Seattle, Washington; and nephew, Landon Richards and wife, Chelsea of Rowlett, Texas.  She was blessed with 2 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew as well as numerous 1st cousins.

She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; mother, Helen Turner Doyal; aunts, Suzanne Berard Doyal, Kathy Turner, and Pauline Doyal Ishmael; and uncles, Wayne Turner, James Turner and Carl Ishmael.

Per her wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, Belinda requested a donation in her memory to The MSA Coalition Inc, a 501c charity raising awareness, providing support and funding clinical trials for this rare terminal disorder.
