Becky Rene Lopez of Richardson, Texas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Plano, Texas after a courageous battle with Covid. She was born on January 28th, 1967, to Gilberto Lopez and Viviana (Villarreal) Lopez in Austin, Texas.
Becky, “Becca” or “Bubba” as she was fondly called, was a devoted single mom to her sons. She worked hard and did her best to give them the best life and education. Becky was fiercely loyal to those she loved and always fought to make time to be there for others. She would not hesitate to defend them or go to them to help. Though she showed a tough exterior to the world at times she was a caring, giving and a loving person who felt deeply. Becky loved all creatures large or small and many would say loved animals over people. She had a quick wit and contagious laugh. Becky always greeted her parents with, “Hola Madre! Hola Padre!” which lifted their spirits every time. We will miss the three-way phone calls with her brothers and sister always leading to much laughter and fond conversations. She loved music, the Dallas Cowboys, and her favorite player “My Cole Beasley”. Becky always reminded people that she was “the pretty one” and of course, we all knew that was true. To say we will greatly miss her would be an understatement. Even though we are all saddened by her passing, we all cherish memories of joy, laughter, and love when we were with her.
She is survived by her loving sons, John Choon of Dallas, Texas and Sammy Rhoads of Richardson, Texas; siblings, Arlene Perez and husband, Danny of Van Alstyne, Texas; Gil and wife, Mary of Honey Grove, Texas; and Romy Lopez and wife, Vicki of Dallas, Texas; niece and nephews, Amber Lopez and husband, Joseph Hernandez of Anna, Texas; Daniel Perez of Van Alstyne, Texas; Matthew Perez of Van Alstyne, Texas; and her great grand-nephews, Gavin and Easton Hernandez of Anna, Texas. She also is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Becky was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Olivia Bayarena Villarreal.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors who took care of her and did all they could to prolong her life at Medical City Plano in the Critical Care Unit, Tower B. We greatly appreciate them.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
