Rebecca Lyn Cole passed away on January 18, 2023 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 69. She was born to Chrisman Ott and Benny (Simmons) Smith on March 11, 1953 in Paris, Texas.
Becky graduated from Paris High School and went on to earn her Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from New Mexico State University. She married Ronald F. Cole in Paris, Texas on May 26, 1973. Becky was very active in her church, First United Methodist Church in McKinney. She was awarded volunteer of the year award for her work at the Samaritan Inn. She enjoyed travel, writing, animals and Diet Dr. Pepper.
Becky is survived by her husband, Ron F. Cole of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Karen Micalyn Cole of McKinney, Texas; son, Jared Cole and wife, Monica of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Christian and Daniella Cole of Melissa, Texas; brother, Chris Smith and wife, Midge of Louisville, Kentucky; nieces, Kimberly Fout of Tempe, Arizona and Kelly Malin of Louisville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Priscilla Tybor and husband, Phil of Bishop, Georgia; nephew, Phil Tybor, Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nieces, Colette Tybor of Bishop, Georgia and Carmen Rivers of Birmingham, Alabama; sister-in-law, Jane Calcott of Hickey Creek, Texas; nephews, Michael Cole of Waxahachie, Texas and David Cole of Macon, Georgia and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chrisman and Benny Smith, brother-in-law, John Cole and niece, Christy Cunningham.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Guests may come by to pay their respects and sign the register book from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.
