Bebe Spain Donley, age 96, passed away February 20, 2012 at her home in Plano, Texas with her family by her side. She was born May 24, 1915 to Frank and Cordia Spain in Corrigan, Texas. Her family came to Dallas, Texas where she spent her childhood. Bebe went to work for Sears where she met the love of her life, James Donley, and later moved to Plano. She was a fun loving person and a good business woman. Bebe started a café in downtown Plano and later started Donely’s Flowers where she retired after 34 years. During her career she served on the city council and was honored Citizen of the Year in 1960. Bebe Donley will be remembered for her sense of community service and the love for her family and friends.
She is survived by her niece, Doris Hoffman of Oklahoma; nephew, Stan Pierce Jr.; great nephew Minor Pierce Jr., both of Plano and many other great nephews and great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jim Donley.
A graveside service will held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February, 24, 2012 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
