Beatrice “Bea” Galicia Lovell of Allen, Texas passed away on July 3, 2016 at the age of 78. She was born on July 31, 1937 to Emilio and Juanita (Aguirre) Galicia in El Campo, Texas. Bea married Jimmy Ray Lovell in 1971 in McKinney, Texas. Bea was a pioneer in many fields. She worked for the Department of Labor and held the title of Police Chief at the Job Corps of McKinney, Texas for several years. Bea dedicated much of her life working for Dal-Briar Corp as an Executive Assistant in Allen, Texas and considered her co-workers as friends and family.
Bea is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jimmy Ray Lovell of Allen, Texas; daughter, Sonya K. Lovell of Barre, Massachusetts; sons, Lee Villarreal and his wife Brenda of Azle, Texas, Mario Villarreal and his wife Sylvianna of Victoria, Texas, Norman Villarreal and his wife Claire of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Virginia Galicia Dena of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Emilio Galicia, Jr of Krum, Texas.; grandchildren, Victoria, Beatrice, Elena and Heather “daHeather”, who lovingly cared for her in her final weeks; numerous nieces and nephews including Joe Dena who coordinated care with medical providers, immediate family members and organized her final resting space for the days to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Simon Galicia; and sister, Janie Gracia.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening, July 7, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2016, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Kahn and his medical staff at Rena Tarbet Cancer Center in McKinney for treatments and ongoing medical care, Baylor Scott & White Hospital and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for providing kind, ethical end of life care.
