Barbara Ann Stephens

Barbara Ann (Crawford) Stephens of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 14, 2020 at the age of 73. She was born on May 6, 1947 to O.J. Williams and Juanita (Crawford) Williams in Kansas City, Missouri. Barbara moved to Oklahoma as a small child where she attended Tulsa Public Schools. She married John W. Stephens, Jr on January 1, 1971 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were married for over 30 years. Barbara was the owner/operator of a child care facility called Small Wonders Learning Center in Lawton, Oklahoma for over ten years and she retired in 2014. She was very active in her church and her local community. Barbara moved to McKinney, Texas in 2019 to be with her daughter and son-in-law.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Glenn Williams of Abilene, Texas and Benicia Ware and husband, Greg of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Airman Tre Nichols of Travis Air Force Base, California, Tea Ware of McKinney, Texas; sister, Marva Jean Sherman and her brother, Charles Williams, both of Kansas City, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Stephens, Jr. and her brother, Jerry Crawford.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Barbara’s obituary page.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Barbara and show their support to her family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
