Barbara Sue Hughes

Barbara Knox-Hughes, 83, of Farmersville, Texas, passed away March 11, 2017, at the Hinton Home nursing facility located in Farmersville. Barbara retired from teaching after 33 years of service where she spent 10 of those years in Okinawa, Japan teaching for the Department of Defense Overseas Schools. Barbara was a member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society and the Western Federation of Artists and Texas Watercolor Society. In addition to her love for painting was her love for gardening where she served as an active member of the Farmersville Garden Club for several years.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father & mother, Leburn & Pearl Knox and her daughter, Sherron Rickman-Simon. Barbara is survived by her brother, Gerald Knox, long-time resident of Farmersville, now residing in Sherman, TX; two nieces: Leslie Rich, Sherman, TX and Marsha Pennington, Baton Rouge, LA; in addition to numerous great nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, March 15th at the Nevada Cemetery. Reverend Clint Brown officiating.

 The family of Barbara Knox-Hughes wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Hinton Home for their caring service over the years. In addition, the family would like to thank Reverend Clint Brown, Church of Christ pastor in Farmersville for presiding over the graveside service.
