Barbara Overal, age 83, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on November 4, 2015. She was born on February 25, 1932 in Yorkshire, England to Joseph Leonard and May (Raddings) Bonehill. On September 27, 1952, Barbara married Henry J. Overal in England. She and her husband came over from England with $50.00 in their pocket and a young boy, but were able to achieve the American dream. Barbara was very active in the Red Cross in both England and America and a very strong supporter of the Women’s Auxiliary. She was a very talented gardener; her garden was always perfect. She was also an excellent artist. Barbara always put her family first, she was a great wife, mother and grandmother; she loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Henry J. Overal of McKinney, Texas; children, Gregory Overal and wife Robin of Spring Branch, Texas, Robert Overal and wife Linda of McKinney, Texas and Sara Overal Ruppel of Waxahachie, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Lauren, Brian, Rachel and Seth; three great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and May Bonehill and sister, Brenda.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
