Barbara Nell Hamrick, age 86, of Little Elm, Texas, passed away unexpectedly in Dallas, Texas, on December 22, 2022. She succumbed to injuries sustained in a car accident, along with her beloved son, Steven Jack Hamrick. She was born on January 9, 1936, in Paris, Arkansas, to Erwin & Mildred Maggard. Barbara lived in California when she met her future husband, Milton Jackson Hamrick, who was stationed there in the Army. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 28, 1956, and were blessed with two children. The family moved to Texas in the early 1970’s, Jack worked for GTE and Barbara worked for the Lewisville school district as a cafeteria manager. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her cherished dogs. Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all those who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Lynn Hamrick, and her granddaughter, Jillian Taylor Hamrick.
In addition to her son, Steven, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jack Hamrick, her daughter, Angela Hamrick, and her brother, Joe Maggard.
A private inurnment will be held at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, where she’ll join her husband.
