IN LOVING MEMORY

Barbara Kay Phillips

Jul 22 1946 - Jul 04 2023

On July 4th, 2023, our mom, Barbara Kay Phillips, gained her angel wings. We have always been told by others that Barb was a “Special Lady”.  Barb brought so much love and happiness to not just our family, but to everyone she met. She just had a way of bringing joy to others and impacting them forever in some way with both her candor, humor, and her generous spirit.  The legacy she leaves behind reaches beyond what she will ever know.

In her younger days, she loved to travel, be adventurous, and fully enjoy life!  She loved hosting parties for her family and friends and always took care of those she loved. Barb worked hard being a marketing and sales rep for SMI for over 20 years which led her to travel to Oklahoma and Arkansas. She made many lasting friendships from her career that she cherished.  She was truly “one of a kind” with her love of adorable small dogs and beautiful home design and was known for her signature style of red lipstick and nails.

She was a fighter and fought until the end. Barbs’ strength and willingness to fight and live through all the obstacles she faced shows how truly strong she was.  The memories and love we have of her will always be the greatest gift. Because of Barb, we all know what resilience, perseverance, and what being a family truly means.

Barbara was born July 22, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jefferson Harold and Dimple Nadine (Cobbs) Anguish.  She graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1964.  Barbara married Leslie Phillips on October 3, 1999, in Ft. Worth, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Tracie Nabors and husband, Roger of Celina, Texas and Leanne Lawter and husband, Michael of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ashley Palmer and husband, Schuyler and Stephanie Morris and husband, Corey, all of Celina, Tiffany Hebért and husband, Robby of Princeton, Texas, Krystal Crumpley of Celina, and Jacob Lawter and Mikalyn Lawter, both of Edmond, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Colton Crumpley, Bryce Crumpley, Mason Crumpley, Sophia Morris, Mason Palmer, Easton Corporon, Grayson Palmer, and Ramsi Hebért; brother, Robert Anguish and wife, Kaye of Rockwall, Texas; nieces, Kim Sansom of Rockwall and Robyn O’Shaughnessy and husband, Tim of Raleigh, North Carolina, Melissa Anguish of Rockwall; great-nieces, Vivienne O’Shaughnessy of Raleigh and Grace Anguish of Rockwall; and great-nephews, Ben Anguish and Cole Sansom, both of Rockwall, many other extended family members and friends who meant the world to her, and her beloved dog Chloe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Phillips, her late husband, Myron Kleinholz, grandson, Brandon Crumpley, nephew, Chris Anguish, and parents, Harold and Dimple Anguish.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma Dr., Celina, Texas, 75009.  Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina.  The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
