Barbara Jean Davis

Barbara Jean Davis of Quitman, Texas formerly of Wylie, Texas passed away November 23, 2020 at the age of 87.  She was born on February 9, 1933 to Julius Washington Hartline and Tommie Lee (Fry) Hartline in Plano, Texas. Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Plano High School.  Barbara married the late Franky Lynn Davis on May 2, 1952 in Renner, Texas and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2013.  She started working for Region 10 in 1972 and retiring only after much encouragement in 2005.  Barbara was fiercely independent and always wanted to be working.  She loved taking care of her garden and making it beautiful for her family to enjoy.  Barbara most loved helping her family and friends.  Barbara was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Cowart of Quitman, Texas; sons, Craig Davis of Quitman, Texas and Randy Davis of St. Paul, Texas; three grandchildren, Shera McLemore and husband, Joe of Hainesville, Shane Cowart of Hawkins, Texas, and Amanda Davis of Gilmer, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Blake McLemore of Hainesville, Texas, Aaron McLemore of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Karli Cowart of Quitman, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of  other loving family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Davis; and parents, Julius and Tommie Hartline; and eight brothers and sisters.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Barbara’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: Celebrationoflife.tv. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Barbara and show their support to her family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen prior to the service. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
