Barbara J. Sweigart

Barbara J. Sweigart, age 71, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. She was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, on September 14, 1952, to Mary Jane (Goheen) and Earl J. Samanns. Barbara married the love of her life, Curtis R. Sweigart, in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, on June 7, 1969, and they were blessed with one daughter. She utilized her many talents as a homemaker, daycare provider and was also a devoted Air Force wife. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, feeding her birds, shopping, watching tv, blaring her favorite music, and going to the casino. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was very giving, funny, had a special place in her heart for all veterans and was dearly loved by many and will be missed by all those who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Angela Lea Kern and her soon to be son-in-law, Ronald Timmons of Frisco; her grandchildren, Donald S. Kern and his wife, Susan, and Andrew S. Kern; her great-granddaughter, Reese Marie Kern; bonus great-grandchildren, Walker, Oliver, Maverick and Salvatore; her sister, Regina Nice and her husband Bill; her brother-in-law Reuben Sweigart and wife Helen, her sister-in-law Linda Denatale and her husband Mike;  her sister-in-law Sheila Smith and her husband Mike, and her sister-in-law Joanna Fletcher and her husband John.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl J., and Mary Jane Samanns; her stepfather, Clayton Craley, Sr.; her sister, Patricia Castle and her husband, Jerry; her brother, Earl J. Samanns Jr. and his wife, Linda and her father-in-law Stephen Sweigart and mother-in-law, Ethel Sweigart.

The visitation will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas – February 19, 2024, from 5-7 pm.
