Barbara Irene Ferguson, a beloved resident of Princeton, Texas, left this world on December 24, 2023, at the age of 72. She was born on March 17, 1951, in Raton, New Mexico, to proud parents Arthur Campbell and Harriett Irene (Jackson) Ferguson, II.

Barbara's journey through life was marked by a spirit of adventure and a passion for diverse experiences. She graduated from Garland High School in 1969, where she showcased her talents as a member of the drama club. Barbara's zest for life led her to obtain a scuba diving certificate, enabling her to explore the wonders of the underwater world. Her adventurous spirit took her on journeys around the globe, including archeological digs and mission trips to Russia. She cherished her time in The British Isles visiting London and several areas of Scotland.

In her later years, Barbara found solace and tranquility in the picturesque town of Havre, Montana, where she retired. This small community perfectly aligned with her desires for an independent and fulfilling life. Barbara loved to hike in the mountains and fished in the rivers and streams of Montana. Barbara was not only independent but also a cherished aunt, known for her warmth and kindness. She shared her love for crocheting with her niece, Christi, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and skill.

Barbara's leisure time was often spent immersed in the pages of books, reflecting her avid love for reading. Her home was adorned with beautiful blue decorations, including many of her cross-stitched creations, a testament to her exquisite taste and attention to detail. Barbara was a puzzle enthusiast, demonstrating her patience and sharp mind in assembling intricate jigsaw puzzles.

Surrounded by a circle of numerous friends, Barbara was known for her vibrant personality and generous spirit. She leaves behind a large collection of cherished memories and an even more extensive collection of books.

Barbara Irene Ferguson will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy of adventure, independence, and love live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She is survived by her sister, Cathy Gooch of The Colony, Texas; brother, Doug Ferguson of Dallas, Texas; nieces and nephews, Christi Barney and husband, Aaron of the Colony, Texas, Michelle Bettarelli and husband, Rick of The Colony, Texas, Audrey Sabin of Mesquite, Texas, Patrick Gooch of Lewisville, Texas, Jeffrey Ferguson and wife, Karnecia of The Colony, Texas, Patrick Ferguson and fiancée Ashley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Christopher Ferguson and wife, Stacy of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Arthur Ferguson, III and sister, Marilyn Walker.
