IN LOVING MEMORY

Barbara Ann Lara

Jan 28 1928 - Jan 26 2021

Barbara Ann Lara, age 92, of Frisco, Texas passed away on January 26, 2021. She was born on January 28, 1928 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Barbara was raised by her paternal aunt Marguerite Muller and husband Harris.  Fred Muller is Barbara’s surviving brother/cousin (way more like her brother). She took Margaret to the hospital when she went into labor with Fred. Once Fred married Linda, she was the perfect “sister” to Barbara.

Mom’s education consisted of coursework at Texas Women’s University in Liberal Arts until her blind date with the Navy Air Cadet Trainee at SMU, Arthur Lara.  Their first date was to the State Fair in Dallas.  Her goals then changed to marriage and raising a family while being the perfect partner and hostess for his insurance business. That brought them many dear friends and their favorite past time of traveling to Mexico. Even though he died 30 years prior to Barbara, he was to be her one and only.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Art Lara, Jr. and his spouse, Carole of Amarillo, Texas; Robbie Patterson of Frisco, Texas; Suzanne Pedigo and her spouse, Terry of Amarillo, Texas.  Barbara’s seven grandchildren are Tiffany Ward Maglisceau; Zachary Lara and his spouse, Sonya; Monty Ward and his spouse, Krissy; Jerrod Swindell; Matthew Lara and his spouse, Crystal; Taylor Brewster and her spouse, Blayne; Hayden Pedigo and his spouse, L’Hanna.  Barbara is survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Barbara Ann Lara was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Lara.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to BeeHive Homes of Frisco and most especially David Wilcox, Jennifer Carlson and Charlie Young.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Llano Cemetery, 2900 S. Hayes Street, Amarillo, Texas 79103, beginning at 1:00 PM.
