Barbara Ann Allgood, 81, the wife of Rev. Leonard Allgood former pastor of First Assembly of God Plano, Texas went to be with Jesus on Wednesday evening February 27, 2013 at The Medical Center of Plano. At the time of Barbara’s death, she was surrounded by her family singing her favorite hymns as she entered into the presence of the Lord. Over her more than 56 years of ministry, Barbara Allgood touched the lives of a great number of people as demonstrated by the many messages from those who attended the church and were influenced by her Christian testimony and devoted walk with the Lord. Sis Allgood inspired them to press on in the faith. Janis Chandler Castro, May 4, 2016 Dear Pastor Allgood we are so sorry to hear the homegoing of our dear sister Allgood. We still remember how she was a blessing to us when we came from India as newly weds. She was instrumental in blessing us with all the things we needed to start a home. She was a bright shining light for Jesus and a blessing to many. We are sure that heaven rejoices because of her. With lots of love Jude and Merina Jude and Merina Francis, April 6, 2013 We were saddened by the tidings of the passing of Barbara Allgood from this earthly plain, but we are joyful in knowing she is now with our Lord in person, and in our future, waiting there with her ever- present smile and greeting "Well, hello, darlin". Our family is blessed to have had the Allgoods, true soldiers of the cross of Christ who pursued our children and shepherded them right into the church and altar, in our family. To Pastor Allgood and all the beloved Allgood family we say, "The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace." Amen. With great love and appreciation, Earl and Janis Dorris, March 7, 2013 In 1998 we were new to Texas and were blessed to rent an apartment from Rev. & Mrs. Allgood. They were our landlords for many years. I remember after the birth of our son in 1999, even though we were not members of their church, they came to visit us in the hospital. Mrs. Allgood brought me a gift of perfume. I thought that was so kind, a gift just for me. Mrs. Allgood was a blessing to our family and a kind and Godly woman. We pray that The Lord would be with Rev. Allgood and his family during this time. Mike & Shauna Vargas, March 5, 2013 We are all mentored by your example. This world is a better place because of you. If there were ever a saint on this earth, you were one. Thank you for the consistent, unswerving example you set. As of an Old Testament saint, it can be said of you, "...and he being dead, yet speaketh." When your daughter in law, Barbara Kay was in your church, she lived to hear you teach Sunday School. Your words are carrying her today. Thank you for showing me how to live for God. Your consistency was unsurpassed. I will meet you there. Dr. Adonna Otwell, March 3, 2013 Dear Pastor Allgood and Family, Our community has lost a kind, caring lady whose contributions over the years have made Plano Texas a wonderful place to live, raise a family and worship our God.It's been a blessing to watch her reach out to those dealing with a loss and I thank the entire "Allgood Ministry" for her life of service. Ted Dickey, March 3, 2013 My life was deeply impacted by Sis. Barbara Allgood. Her life radiated a special presence of the Lord. She certainly lived up to the spiritual meaning of her name. She was a stranger to this world, but was always headed home. And now she has arrived! Heb. 11:13 "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country...16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city." May God bless Bro. Allgood and all the family. We love you and are praying for you! James Martin, March 3, 2013 Bro. Allgood, I believe it was A.C. Bates who said: We haven't lost them, we know where they are'. This is very true for a special saint of God known as BARBARA ANN ALLGOOD. Her life has blessed untold numbers of people.
