Barbara Ramsey Talley, age 87, of Frisco, Texas passed away on November 22, 2021. She was born on October 6, 1934, to Marion (Rogers) Saunders and Cyril Vincent Saunders in Portsmouth, England. On July 3, 1959, Barbara married Kenneth Rex Talley in Denton, Texas. Barbara worked in the Frisco ISD Tax Office and at JCPenney corporate office.
Barbara is survived by her children, Bobby Talley and his wife, Karen of Celina, Texas, Cole Talley and his wife, Traci of Celina, Texas, Rexanne Crysel and her husband, Scott of Celina, Texas; and her six grandchildren, Abby (Talley) Mackey, Shannon (Talley) Stewart, Alex Talley, Kate Talley, Kensey Crysel, and Coby Crysel; her great grandchildren, Ruth Mackey, Ramsey Mackey and Brodie Stewart; her five siblings, Reg Saunders, Hugh Saunders, David Saunders, Maurice Saunders, and Colin Saunders.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Rex Talley; her parents, Marion and Cyril Saunders; her two brothers, Charles “Donnie” Saunders and Vic Saunders; and her granddaughter, Molly Crysel.
Barbara grew up in Singapore during World War II. Later leaving Singapore in 1942 to Australia where she would live for 4 years before returning to Scotland in 1946. Barbara came to Frisco, TX in 1959. She met a young Air Force airman, Rex Talley in Edinburgh, Scotland at a bus stop. The two struck up a friendship that started a relationship that continued for 49 years before his passing. Barbara was first a stay-at-home mom for many years before going back to work in the Frisco Tax office and then, later working at the JC Penney corporate office. She was involved in volunteering with her children’s activities and family. She never met a stranger. After Rex’s passing, she volunteered at Settlers Ridge Care Center in Celina. She also gained many friends through her Sunday school classes at First Baptist Celina, Prestonwood North and the Silver Sombreros. She loved to travel with family back to Scotland and share her rich history and reconnect with her brothers and their families. She loved the Lord and decided at 85 she needed to be baptized, so in September 2019 she did just that. She witnessed to anyone who would listen. She wanted everyone to know where her joy came from. She was a blessing to so many and will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033. Family and friends are invited to a Visitation, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
