Aurora "Janet" Basea Barber

March 5, 1934 - November 10, 2019

Aurora “Janet” Basea Barber of Coppell, Texas passed away on November 10, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born on March 5, 1934 to Tereso Basea, Sr. and Anita (Urbano) Basea in Carigara, Leyte, Phillippines. Aurora married James Almeria Barber on April 6, 1957 in the Phillippines. She left the Phillippines with her three children in 1972 to rejoin her husband in California. Aurora worked for Fairchild and Hewlett-Packard where she would retire after many years of service. In 2004, they moved to Texas. Aurora’s family remembers her as a wonderful mother and an excellent caregiver for her husband, James. She loved cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Aurora is survived by her 4 children, Tyrone Barber of Escalon, California, Jacqueline Barber Martin and her husband, Archie of McKinney, Texas, Burt Barber and his spouse, Timothy Huizinga of Phoenix, Arizona, Darlene Barber Bauer and her husband, Brandon of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Ramon Medina, Cameron Barber, Ty Preston Barber, Lauren Martin and her husband, Ian Grogan, Taylor Martin, Kyle Martin, Nalu Martin, and James Teddy Bauer; and 2 sister-in-laws, Lily Decena and Arning Basea; and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Almeria Barber; son, Salem Barber; 3 brothers,  Esing Basea, Ricardo Basea and Reynaldo Basea, Sr..

A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Christus St. Joseph’s Chapel, 1201 East Sandy Lake Road, Coppell, Texas 75019. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.The family will receive friends during a visitation and reception on Thursday evening, November 21, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
