Our beautiful mother Aurelia Bell Moss left this world on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at age 82. She had battled Alzheimer's for more than 15 years, making her an outlier. We reckon the battle was a draw.
Aurelia was born in Pensacola, FL to her loving parents, Mae Belle and Eley Wilbur Bell and together with her older sister, Marlene, they had a happy and beautiful childhood growing up along the Gulf Coast. After graduating from Murphy High School in Mobile, AL, she worked at Brookley Air Force Base and also for NASA at the Stennis Center nearby.
She was introduced to her future husband, Ronald Gene Moss, in late 1964 by Ron's brother Willie who also worked at Brookley. They married on January 23, 1965. Shortly after, Ron went into the Army and they spent 2 years in Germany near Ramstein and lived with the Hermann Flederer family.
They settled in Houston around 1969, where they welcomed their two sons into the world, Christopher Bryan and Jason William. They lived in different places including Marshall, TX, Orlando and Panama City, FL. Together, they had a happy and beautiful life and loved spending time on Lake O' The Pines. Later, Aurelia and Ron retired on a small spread outside of Gilmer, TX and enjoyed many great, peaceful years together there.
Aurelia was a spiritual person and lifelong believer in God and prayer.
Aurelia was a breast cancer survivor.
Aurelia was a beautiful and positive source of light and happiness in this world. She brought joy to those who knew her.
Aurelia's family will be forever grateful to the staff at both The Village at Stonebridge in McKinney, TX and Magnolia Senior Living in Frisco and also to family friend Yolanda Faz who gave her great care, kindness and grace.
Her mother, Mae Belle, battled Alzheimer's, and her sister, Marlene is currently battling it and many thousands of others are and will face it. No one deserves to deal with any of the infirmities and afflictions that take us; there are so many and they are all so awful. Aurelia loved flowers, especially yellow roses. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to The Alzheimer’s Association at the link below, or your favorite charity.

Please give those dealing with the challenges of life dignity and respect and please be kind and grateful for their caregivers, without whom so many lives would be much more difficult.
Aurelia leaves behind her sons and their spouses who adored her, her granddaughter Isabella (“Izzy”), her sister, Marlene, 2 sisters-in-law, Colleen and Diana, and many nieces and nephews. She adored her family and friends.
There will be a memorial service on Thursday the 27th of July 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow at 8520 E. Main Street, Frisco, TX. Visitation begins at 10:00 am and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Aurelia will be interred at Perryville Cemetery in Perryville, TX alongside her husband, Ron.
