Aubrey Earl McNutt

Aubrey McNutt of Garland, Texas passed away on December 29, 2016 at the age of 69.  He was born on December 17, 1947 to Spurgeon Thomas and Ruby Inez (Crosslin) McNutt in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  Aubrey graduated from Shawnee High School in the class of 1966.  He attended Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas where he majored in midnight basketball and Ft. Louis College in Durango, Colorado where he played football.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marines where he played football and basketball as an outstanding athletic.  Aubrey married Susan Kathleen Jackson on July 3, 1980 in Dallas, Texas.  He followed in his father’s and brothers’ footsteps as a talented carpenter creating timeless masterpieces to be enjoyed for generations to come.  Aubrey actively shared his faith as a member of Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas for over 37 years and a published member of the Christian organization, Roaring Lambs.

Aubrey is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susan Kathleen McNutt of Garland; son, Warren Andrew McNutt and wife, Claudia of Ft. Worth; daughters, Shawna LeAnne Seale and husband, Terry of Highland Village, Jami Leanne McNutt of Garland; grandchildren, Natasha Reza and husband, Stevie of Ft Worth, Allen Barrera, Ashanta Barrera and Valeria McNutt all of Ft Worth, Melodi Leverett of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Rachel Jones and husband, Timothy of Ponder, Michael Freeman of Denton, Sarah Freeman of Wichita, Kansas, Jolie Seale of Highland Village, Tori Seale of Lewisville, Tyler Seale and wife Jesse of Lewisville, Tonya Seale of Lewisville, Braydan McNutt of Garland; great-grandchildren: Jace Freeman of Highland Village, Elena Jones of Ponder, Maddy and Jayden Reza of Ft Worth; sisters, Barbara Smith and husband, Thurman of Harrah, Oklahoma, JoAnne Barlow of Dallas, Tina Parker of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Sharon Spicer of St. Louis, Oklahoma, sister-in-law, Dixie McNutt of Macomb, Oklahoma; brother, Wayne McNutt and wife, Birdie of Terrell; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores Mills; brother, Doney McNutt and brothers-in-law, Harry Barlow, Rick Parker and Veldon Spicer.

A viewing will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75238 with the funeral service to follow at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kent Tyler Memorial Fund in care of Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75238.
