Arturo Peña Garces, age 81, of Little Elm, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born in Charco, Texas, on January 31, 1941, to Rosa Peña and Francisco Garces. Arturo proudly served his country in the United States Army, including two tours in Vietnam and also stationed in Korea for a time. He retired from the Army after a twenty-five year successful career. Arturo married the love of his life, Dora Coronado, on May 15, 1972, in Columbia, South Carolina, and they were blessed with three daughters.

He loved spending time outside farming. Arturo enjoyed cowboy/western movies and especially cherished spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband and a loving father and grandfather. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dora Garces; his daughters, Rosa Garces and her husband, Brian Feinstein, Elizabeth Pacheco and her husband, Eduardo, and Sylvia Duran; his grandchildren, Hayley Feinstein, Jack Feinstein, Eddie Pacheco Jr., Christopher Pacheco, Joey Duran, and Jose Sanchez; his great-grandchildren, Yasmine Duran, Chris Pacheco, Michael Pacheco, Justin Sanchez, and Nicholas Sanchez; his sisters, Oralia Salinas, Delia Cantu, Dalia Gloria, and Maria Elena Navarro; and his brother, Guadalupe Garces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Rosa Pena Garces, and his brothers, Benicio Garces, Francisco Garces Jr., and Juan Garces Sr.

The family invites you to a Visitation at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Drive, Frisco, Texas, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The Funeral service will be held here Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.  The service will be livestreamed at the following link; https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/arturo-pena-garces.
