Arthur Lorenzo Carnes

Arthur Lorenzo Carnes of McKinney, Texas passed away on June 22, 2018 at the age of 84.  He was born on June 7, 1934 to James Joseph and Jeannette Olivia (Parker) Carnes in Jefferson County, Alabama.  Arthur graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and married Ada Mae Galloway on October 11, 1952 in Bernalillo, New Mexico.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1955.  Arthur then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country from 1955 until 1977 when he retired as an SMSGT.  After retiring from the Air Force, Arthur was a quality assurance inspector at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a Master Mason, an active member of the GWRRA motorcycle club, and served as a Deacon at Mountainside Church of Christ in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ada Mae Carnes of McKinney, Texas; sons, Glenn Carnes and wife, Francis of Georgetown, Texas, Daniel Carnes and wife, Laura of Tomball, Texas, Craig Carnes and wife, Patti of McKinney, Texas; six grandchildren:  David and wife Lisa, John and wife Angie, Austin and wife Katie, Ethan, Chad and wife Stephanie, and Tania; seven great-grandchildren:  Gabby, Seamus, Shannon, Johnny, Lochlan, Chase, and Elle; two sisters, Julia Chase and Wendy Tenney; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jeannette Carnes; his sister, Olivia Smith; and his brothers, Joe Carnes and Richard Carnes.

 A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  A graveside service with full Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
