Armon Davis Gibson of McKinney, Texas passed away on February 10, 2018 at the age of 89. He was born on December 4, 1928 to Marvin H. & Mary Elizabeth (Griffey) Gibson in McKinney, Texas. Armon grew up in McKinney, Texas where he graduated from McKinney Boyd High School in 1946. He married Mary Ann Allsbrooks on December 15, 1956 in Durant, Oklahoma. Armon worked for the Texas Department of Transportation as an inspector for 33 years, retiring in May 1987. He enjoyed collecting Mercury automobiles and watching westerns. He was a member of Rheas Mill Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas
Armon is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Gibson of McKinney; daughters, Brenda Stone and husband, Allen of McKinney, Linda Fuqua of Gainesville, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal Lemons and husband, Chase, Courtney Clay and husband, Tanner, Tammy Hardie and husband, Joshua, Jonathan Fuqua and wife, Courtney and Juliet Fuqua; great-grandchildren, Taylor Green, Kinsley Lemons, Abbie Clay, Connor Hardie, Alexis Hardie, Micayla Hardie, Araylie Hardie, Alaira Hardie, Sydney Fuqua, Elaina Fuqua and Piper Fuqua; brother, Erwin Harve Gibson; sister, Evelyn Valek; and several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Gibson; grandchildren, Scott Fuqua and Jennifer Fuqua; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Forest Grove Community. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
