Arlis R. Clay

Arlis R. Clay of Princeton, Texas passed away on September 22, 2016 at the age of 81.  He was born on October 11, 1934 to Ruben Dalton and Hautence (Kinamon) Clay in Blue Ridge, Texas.  Arlis married Peggy Ann Anderson on October 9, 1959 in Princeton.  He worked for Western Electric for over 25 years, and then retiring with AT&T. Arlis proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton.

Arlis is survived by his son, Bradley Clay of Dallas; daughter, Kimberly Ann Clay Bacak and husband, Roger of Irving; sisters, Freddie Welborn of Princeton, Mary Stewart of McKinney, Betty Hammond of Irving; brothers, Charles Clay and wife, Shirley of Blue Ridge, Finis “Toby” Clay, Weldon Daniel “Bubba” Clay and wife, Bobbie all of Princeton; brother-in-law, Darrell Lokey of Wylie; and several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Clay; his parents; his sister, Tenny; and brother-in-law, Floyd Welborn.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 511 Jefferson Ave., Princeton, Texas 75407.
