Ardyth Jean Hanson, age 78, of Plano, Texas, passed away December 8, 2012, in Plano. Ardyth was born August 1, 1934, in River Falls, Wisconsin, to Robert Thomas and Hazel Belle (Baird) Hamilton. She married Roger Gordon Hanson on August 30, 1958, in River Falls. Ardyth grew up on a farm in Pierce County, Wisconsin and attended Prescott, Wisconsin and River Falls, Wisconsin public schools. She worked at St. Paul National Bank and State Farm Insurance Company for a number of years. Ardyth’s proudest career accomplishments were working as a project associate at the University of Missouri in Columbia and as an administrative assistant at North Carolina State University. Her civic involvements included president of West Junior High PTA in Columbia, Missouri and serving as an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia. Ardyth was a member of Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Gordon Hanson of Plano, Texas; daughter, Karen Annette Denker of Richardson, Texas; grandsons, William Patrick Denker and Jonathan Michael Denker; and brother, Charles Delbert Hamilton of River Falls, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. An inurnment will follow at a later date.
